Cultural Awareness & Guidelines for Delegates

Dear Delegates,

As we prepare for the World Youth Assembly for Road Safety 2025 in Morocco, we want to remind everyone of the importance of cultural awareness and respect for local laws and customs during our time together. We want to ensure we build unforgettable memories together without compromising your safety and security.

Morocco is a diverse country with a rich history, and as guests, we must remain mindful of local traditions and specific regulations governing public speech. While we all value open discussions and advocate for various civil liberties, certain topics may be restricted due to cultural and legal contexts. It is essential to understand that failing to adhere to Moroccan laws can have serious consequences, including legal action and, in some cases, imprisonment.

To ensure a smooth and positive experience for all, we kindly ask that you:

✅ Keep discussions focused on road safety and sustainable mobility, which is the core purpose of our gathering.

✅ Be mindful of cultural and political sensitivities when engaging in conversations, whether during sessions, in public spaces, or on social media.

✅ Respect local customs and laws, as every country has its norms that shape public discourse.

✅ Understand criticism of political matters or government policies publicly (including social media) is strictly prohibited by law and can result in serious consequences, including legal action or imprisonment.

✅ Remember that every person present has their own values and experiences informed by their reality; we respect everyone’s beliefs and are united by our vision for a world free from road deaths.

Our shared goal at the Assembly is to drive meaningful change in road safety and to create a platform for youth leadership on this crucial issue. Let’s work together to ensure that our discussions remain impactful, inclusive, and aligned with the purpose of this Assembly.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out. We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to an inspiring and action-driven event with all of you!

Best regards,

Road Safety Team
