On 15-16 February 2025, over 200 young leaders from 70+ countries will come together in Marrakech, Morocco, to shape the future of road safety. This is your assembly—a space to lead, innovate, and create impact as part of a global movement for safer, more sustainable mobility.

As an official side event of the 4th Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety, the assembly is your chance to connect global strategies with local action, ensuring youth voices are heard loud and clear.

Global Youth Mobility Ambassadors

The World Youth Assembly is led by youth, with youth, for youth. The Global Youth Mobility Ambassadors are working hard to represent you and set the direction for this game-changing event. As champions for change, they are advocating for the inclusion of youth perspectives in policy-making, spreading stories of youth innovation, and building bridges to sustainable development causes.

General information about the 3rd World Youth Assembly for Road Safety

    1. Spaces are limited: Registrations will be open on a “first come, first served” basis and submission of the registration form does not automatically guarantee acceptance. Important: Young leaders under the age of 18 can participate in local youth consultations and attend the event virtually.

    2. Confirmation: Registrants will receive their official invitation letter in the first week of October.

    3. Application Review: All submitted applications will be evaluated anonymously with identifying information removed. Evaluators include the Global Youth Mobility Ambassadors and conference organisers. An objective scoring rubric will be applied to each application to evaluate it fairly. All efforts will be made to consider balance in gender, geography, age, and background experience.

    4. Visa Requirements: Those needing a visa are encouraged to prepare requirements and apply as soon as they receive the official invitation letter. Due to our small team, YOURS will offer limited visa support, and will send details after you receive confirmation.

    5. Language: All sessions at the Assembly are conducted in English. Language translation services (Spanish and French) will be provided only during plenary sessions.

    6. Financial Aid: Financial aid is available for some accepted delegates, particularly from low and middle-income countries.

      Only selected delegates who meet eligibility requirements will be contacted with a subsidy offer. All applicants are encouraged to seek local organisational support and self-funding efforts.

    • Age requirement: Applicants must be aged between 18 and 35 by 15 February 2025.

    • Membership: Must be a member of the Global Youth Coalition (sign up here).

    • Language proficiency: Comfortable with speaking and understanding English.

    • Youth consultation survey: Participation in the 2023-2024 Youth Consultation with proof of submission.

    • Video submission: A one-minute video in English of you talking about how youth or youth-led organisations can contribute to the Global Plan for the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-2030, including personal contributions.

    • Travel documentation: In case you don’t have a passport yet that's valid until August 15, 2025, with one blank page for an entry stamp, we will require you to commit to securing it before 1 February 2025, in case you are selected.

    • YOURS Academy: Completion of modules 1 and 2 of the YOURS Academy, dedicating at least two hours to each, with certificates as proof. (You can submit or skip these requirements for now. If you get preselected, you must provide your YOURS Academy modules by 20 October 2024).

    • Advocacy letter: Adaptation of this template letter to your context, making a request that would benefit your community and addressing it to a decision-maker that's relevant to your context. More information and instructions about this letter are provided further on in this form. (You can submit or skip this requirement for now. If you get preselected, you must provide your letter by 20 October 2024).

    Engage in parallel training and panels led by industry experts, academics, and leaders. These sessions will connect the transport agenda with sustainable development goals, offering clear and actionable steps for progress.

    Dive into interactive experiences with thought-provoking art, music, film, and dance. These activities will allow young people to express their ideas, an alternative take on your typical conference format and give you the ideas to creatively advocate for change.

    Explore global mini-case examples in the Idea Exchange Hub, discover groundbreaking technology & AI tools, and compete in the Innovation Generator Challenge for local community impact after the event.

  • RATIFY THE 2025 GLOBAL YOUTH STATEMENT

    Contribute your voice to the 2025 Global Youth Statement and be one of the delegates officially ratifying this key advocacy tool for youth leaders that will act as the key document for the Global Youth Coalition’s future work and priorities.

  • INTERGENERATIONAL DIALOGUE

    Meet with high-level officials from government and international organisations to share your experiences, democratise spaces for dialogue and co-create demands for change.

  • Delegates will receive assistance with travel, accommodation, and visa arrangements. Detailed information will be provided to selected delegates.

  • Yes, transportation will be provided for delegates between designated hotels and the event venue. Detailed schedules and routes will be shared prior to the event.

  • Delegates should bring personal identification, including a passport, any necessary travel documents, and items for note-taking. A detailed checklist will be provided to selected delegates.

  • We aim to accommodate various dietary needs and preferences. During the process we will ask to provide dietary requirements in advance to ensure suitable arrangements are made.

  • On-site support will include a help desk, medical assistance, and coordination staff to assist with any needs or issues that arise during the event.

  • We have focused our fundraising efforts on making the event free to attend and covering meals and in-city transport for every delegate. Still, you will have to self-fund or find sponsorship to cover hotel, flight, and visa expenses.

    We aim to contact selected delegates with updated scholarship information when it becomes available.
